Year 2 Field Trip to Quaid-e-Azam’s Mausoleum

Our Year 2 pupils had an interesting and educational visit to Quaid-e-Azam’s Mausoleum on Thursday, February 27,2025. The trip was a great opportunity for our young learners to learn about history and pay tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

As the pupils arrived at the white marble mausoleum, they were amazed by its size and peaceful surroundings. They learned about Quaid-e-Azam’s life, his role in the creation of Pakistan, and why he is called the Father of the Nation. The teachers shared important facts about his struggles, leadership, and vision for Pakistan.

One of the most exciting moments of the trip was witnessing the changing of the guards ceremony. The pupils watched in admiration as the well-disciplined soldiers performed the parade with great precision and respect. It was a proud and inspiring sight, showing the dedication of our armed forces in honouring our national hero.

Inside the mausoleum, the pupils were fascinated by the grand chandelier, a magnificent gift from China. The teachers explained that this beautiful chandelier was presented as a symbol of friendship between Pakistan and China. Its sparkling lights and intricate design added to the solemn and majestic atmosphere of the mausoleum.

We also visited the graves of other important leaders buried near Quaid-e-Azam. They paid their respects to Fatima Jinnah, Liaquat Ali Khan, Begum Ranna Liaquat Ali Khan and others who played key roles in Pakistan’s history. The teachers told stories of their contributions, helping the pupils understand the sacrifices made for the country. Before leaving the mausoleum, all the pupils gathered and recited prayers for Quaid-e-Azam and the other great leaders, showing their respect.

Additionally, they explored the museum, where they saw Quaid-e-Azam’s personal belongings, such as: his car, clothes, furniture from his study, sports gear, crockery, currency of that time, and books. They were curious and excited to learn about his life and work.

After exploring the mausoleum and museum, we took a short break in the gardens, where they shared their thoughts on the trip.

This field trip was not only a fun outing but also a valuable learning experience. They returned to school with a better understanding of Pakistan’s history and the important values Quaid-e-Azam stood for: honesty, hard work, and unity. It was a day full of learning, respect, and patriotism!
