On February 27, 2025, the MPR was filled with enthusiasm as students from Years 4 to 10 participated in the Annual Urdu Debate and Panel Discussion. The event held in two formats, debate and panel discussion allowed students to explore a variety of thought-provoking topics in Urdu.
Each year group was assigned a different topic, with Year 4 discussing ‘Sheher ki Zindagi Gaon ki Zindagi Se Behtar Hai,’ Year 5 tackling ‘Mayare Taleem Ke Liye Internet Kaafi Hai,’ Year 6 debating ‘Angrezi Zuban Taraqqi Ki Zamin Hai,’ Year 7 focusing on ‘Online Khareedari Behtar Hai,’ Year 8 discussing ‘Hum Ek Azaad Qoum Hain,’ Year 9 exploring ‘Brand Hamara Mayare Zindagi Tay Krte Hain,’ and Year 10 addressing ‘Jung Sirf Riwayati Hathyaroon Se Nahi Lari Jaati.’
The external judges, Mr. Farhan Khan, Urdu Specialist at AKU-EB, and Mr. Mohammad Asif Ishaq, Urdu Lecturer at Bahria Town School and College, evaluated the students on their articulation, reasoning, and delivery. They praised the simplicity and organization of the event and appreciated the teachers for their efforts in preparing the students. The judges also commended the students for their confident delivery, their command over the topic, and their ability to engage the audience.
The winners in each category were: Year 4: Ayesha Yousuf from Air House, Year 5: Fatiha Aamir from Water House, Year 6: Ghania Ahmed from Air House, Year 7: Shanzay Salahuddin from Air House, Year 8: Hiba Rizwan from Air House, Year 9: Eman Fatima from Water House, and Year 10: Eman Sheikh from Water House. These students demonstrated excellent oratory skills and confidence which earned them recognition for their performances.
