Social Media Policy

In today’s digital age, social media platforms are integral to our daily lives, impacting our interactions within the school community. This policy sets out clear guidelines for the appropriate use of social media by all members of our school community. By following these guidelines, we ensure the safety and well-being of everyone while upholding our shared values. This policy aims to:

  • Emphasize that online interactions on social media platforms are subject to the same standards of conduct as real-life interactions
  • Establish expectations for responsible and appropriate use of social media applications
  • Protect the reputation of the school and its members, ensuring that online behaviour reflects positively in our community
  • Educate about potential risks associated with social media use and promote online safety for our students

Social Media Etiquette

Adhering to our school’s ethos of “Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Neat,” please consider the following before posting online:

  • Am I demonstrating kindness towards others and myself?
  • Could this post potentially endanger the safety or well-being of others?
  • Could this post/comment be hurtful towards anyone?
  • Will this content positively or negatively impact the school’s reputation?
  • Should I post photographs of students or staff on social media platforms?

As members of the PECHS Girls’ School community, which includes students, parents and all school staff, we commit to:

  • Engaging in responsible online interactions at all times
  • Safeguarding our own privacy and acknowledging that information we share is accessible to the public
  • Promptly addressing instances of harassment or abuse directed towards the school on social media platforms
  • Demonstrating consideration and respect towards each other in our online interactions
  • Respecting the privacy of others in all online engagements

As members of the school community, we must refrain from sharing confidential information about the school or its members on social media platforms.

  • Discussing work-related issues or grievances on social media platforms

By adhering to these guidelines, we uphold the values of respect, responsibility, and integrity that define our school community.

Thank you for your cooperation in promoting a positive and safe online environment for all.
