Science Beyond the Classroom

Four of our Middle School Science teachers recently participated in the Holistic Science Teaching Fellowship Course. An inspiring online learning experience aimed at redefining science education. The theme, ‘Science Beyond the Classroom’ encouraged educators to explore science through real-world connections, interdisciplinary thinking, and reflective teaching practices.

The course featured international speakers and professors from renowned universities who delivered extraordinary lectures and interactive sessions. Their guidance helped teachers discover new ways to make science more meaningful, value-driven, and engaging for students.

Through this fellowship, our educators were empowered to move beyond textbooks. They were taught how to bring thoughtful inquiry, ignite curiosity and bring holistic understanding into their daily teaching. Even in an online setting, the collaboration, insight, and energy shared were truly transformative.

Our teachers were challenged for a three-week period, attending classes over weekends and recording and uploading videos of themselves teaching holistic science lessons. These videos are part of the evaluation plan, for which they will get feedback and then certificates.

We truly value our teachers for taking on this challenge, putting in all the extra time, for embracing innovation and continuing their journey as lifelong learners and change-makers in science education.
