On Saturday, September 13, 2025, we held a SEL Parenting workshop titled Tough Love & Logic for the parents of children in Years 1–3. The session was led by our SEL Team Leader, Ms Mahenaz Mahmud, and was attended by an enthusiastic group of mothers along with the AHM Academics Years 1-3, Ms Sarah Ladhani and the SfL Unit Head Ms Qurat-ul-Ain Syed.
Together, we explored important social-emotional milestones and discussed practical ways to:
– Help children regulate their emotions and behaviour
– Communicate with children in ways that foster understanding
– Build strong and positive parent-child relationships.
Sharing their personal experiences, mothers asked many questions about the challenges they face in raising their children, thereby making the session both interactive and meaningful. MM beautifully summed it up, recalling the thought that ”too much love never spoils children. Children become spoiled when we substitute presents for presence.”
We look forward to continuing this journey of working together to nurture happy, balanced, and confident children.
