On Wednesday, October 23, our Year 7 students visited Liaquat National Auditorium to attend the ‘Explorations in Music’ workshop, organised by the All Pakistan Music Conference Karachi’s Youth Initiative Murki. The workshop featured Berlin to Lahore, the German World Music Band, and the renowned Pakistani sitar player Ustad Ashraf Sharif Khan.
The collaboration between German and Pakistani musicians showcased a unique fusion of Western and Eastern musical styles, featuring a relaxing instrumental blend of sitar, piano, and drums. Students got the opportunity to meet the musicians, ask questions, take autographs and play the instruments. They also got the opportunity to display their talents. Anabia Shehreyar from Year 7C performed the National Anthem on the piano, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Hitakshi from Year 7A presented a bouquet and Ajrak to the guests as a gesture of appreciation.
The performances left an impression on the students. They thoroughly enjoyed the fusion of different musical elements. Many students were inspired by the experience and wanted to have this kind of exposure more often.
