Primary Section In-Class Theatre
What started in September as a spark of imagination, blossomed on November 13, 2024 into a vibrant celebration of storytelling, enjoyment and teamwork. Since September, our halls have been alive with laughter, dedication and creativity of our pupils and teachers as they worked tirelessly on their theatre performances. Across Years 1 to 5, teachers supported pupils in learning and delivering their lines, crafting props, and even designing posters to announce showtimes.
Teachers of Years 1-3 worked closely with pupils, helping them bring each character to life and to craft lively props. Years 4 and 5 took collaboration to another level, as pupils and teachers split into groups focusing on acting and prop-making. There were even assistant directors emerging in Years 4 and 5, where pupils helped direct scenes and led their peers through rehearsals. During flex time, the prop teams transformed cardboard into little pieces of uniforms, animal masks, laptops, robots and a lot more which brought each performance to life.
On November 13, the classrooms transformed into theatre stages and our pupils took charge as actors and directors. They amazed everyone with their acting, energy, and the skilful use of props and costumes. The theatre themes were varied and captivating, blending fantasy and modern retellings of tales with social-emotional learning. Each year group brought unique stories to life.
Students of Years 6-10 were the audience for performances of the Primary Section, applauding the performances and uplifting the spirits of younger pupils. We saw the world through our pupils’ eyes where bullies were confronted, bystanders took a stand, nursery rhymes came to life, animals helped each other, and pirates saved the day. There was even a magical brush that brought drawings to life, a festival of kindness, and journeys that explored both real-world values and mystical discoveries. From robots dancing to elves sewing, flowers singing, and characters embarking on quests with life lessons along the way, it was an emotional journey that truly left a lasting impact on everyone.
This was not just a performance – it was a testament to the incredible talent and hard work of our pupils and teachers. We invite you to look through the photos to capture a glimpse of the magic that unfolded in all the classrooms.
