We Got the First Position in an Inter – School English Declamation Contest

On April 26, 2024, Habib Public School invited us to attend their English Declamation contest. The competition was exclusively for Year 5 pupils. The topic of the declamation was, “Social Media – Bane or Boon.” The main objective of this theme was to highlight the pros and cons of social media since we are all connected to it in one way or another, and it has transformed the traditional way we communicate, share information, and connect with the world around us. The idea was to not neglect the dual nature of social media. Participants were required to deliver a 3-minute speech in English.
Syeda Aamna Atif 5A and Pareesa Danish 5B represented our school. Both our pupils spoke in favour of social media. Although all the participants came prepared and worked really hard, as always, there could only be one winner. Pareesa was awarded first position and a gift box for her outstanding content and delivery. She spoke about trending apps, popular social platforms and the latest issues of our society, which made her stand out amongst a total of 30 participants; it was filled with witty remarks and impressive punch lines. She spoke with clarity and her body language only added to her delivery. Both of our pupils received certificates. Well Done Pareesa!
