September 2024 as in previous years, has been an exciting month for Year 10!
To begin with, students aspiring to serve as Council Members were briefed about the duties and responsibilities of the various posts. They then filled out nomination forms and sat through rigorous interviews with a panel including the principal, to assess their suitability for the roles of Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.
The shortlisted candidates were then briefed about the Code of Conduct for the election campaign. Following that, students got busy drafting their speeches and creating their campaign posters and badges. They did a wonderful job! The election process fostered a positive and collaborative environment, with the candidates focusing on promoting discussion rather than any negative campaigning.
Election day finally arrived on September 10. Students from Years 6-10 cast their votes, and on September 11, the Principal, Ms. Seema Malik, announced the eagerly awaited results at a special assembly.
