Sun House Wins the Science Quest 2025!

On March 19, the eagerly anticipated Science Quest 2025 competition took place, engaging Year 8 students in a battle of scientific wits. The first round of the quiz had already taken place in their classroom, and now four finalist students from each section of Year 8 representing the Sun, Air, and Water houses, advanced to the final team-based round. Lifelines were provided, allowing teams to seek help from peers, reference books, or skip tough questions altogether.

The competition consisted of five engaging rounds:

1. Rapid Fire Round: Teams had one minute to answer 10 questions. Timers were set which added to the excitement.

2. Audio-Visual Round: Teams had to identify scientific concepts by viewing images and listening to audio clips.

3. ChemQuest Round: Students’ knowledge of chemistry was put to the test as they were expected to answer questions about chemical structures and balancing equations.

 4. Mystery Box Round: Teams were expected to identify science experiment-related items placed in a wrapped box. Each House Team received one Mystery Box which had a unique item. One student from each team had to talk knowledgably about the specific item, which showcased their communication skills and confidence. The judges also asked questions related to the items. It was quite an enriching experience for the teams and the audience as well.

5. Riddle Round: Correct answers earned bonus points for each house. The audience also engaged in the riddle round and showed their interest.

At the end of a nail-biting competition, Sun House emerged victorious, accumulating the most points. The event provided a unique and enjoyable experience for the students, who thoroughly relished the challenge.
