Inter School English Declamation Contest 2022

Bhakhtwar Jahanzaib of Year 10 A and Khadija Kazi of Year 10 C participated in the Inter School English Declamation Contest 2022, as the main speaker and the alternate speaker respectively.

Ms Sabah Hameed worked tirelessly with our students for the competition and her time and effort were not in vain. Thank you Ms. Sabah!

It was a very tough competition as most of the participants were eloquent and had very strong content in the Elimination Round. After a fierce competitive round between 7 – 8 students, Bhakhtwar Jahanzeb won the Third Position. We are so proud of her!

An Inter School English Declamation Contest was organized by the Jinnah Society at the Jinnah House Museum on March 17, 18 and 19, 2022, in collaboration with the Sindh Government. Mr. Liaquat H. Merchant, the grandnephew of the Quaid-e- Azam, was the chief guest and one of the judges.

The Elimination Rounds were held on March 17 and 18, 2022.
The topics were:
– Pakistan Resolution 1940
– Pakistan’s Current Position in South Asia
– Would Kashmir be better with India, Pakistan or as an independent state
The Final Round was held on March 19, 2022

The topics were:
– Jinnah’s Pakistan
– Pakistan and Muslim World- interaction and benefits

Out of 45 schools, 29 schools participated and competed in the declamation. Twelve students were selected as finalists from 29 students in the Elimination Round to compete in the Final Round. Mama Parsi, St. Michael’s, BVS., Bahria College, Sindh Madrasutal Islam, St. Patricks, St. Paul’s, Jaffar Public, Al Murtaza, Hamdard and Ida Rieu School were some of the schools who participated in the Elimination Round.

In the final round, the PECHS Girls’ School came in third and received the Jinnah Trophy along with Rs. 15,000 cash and a set of books.
