First Position in Inter-School English Declamation Contest

On January 18, 2024, our student, Sarah Mubasshir 5B participated in the Inter-School English Declamation Contest hosted by The Set School. The main objective of this contest was to help students improve their public speaking skills and create awareness regarding socio-cultural and political issues. There were 17 topics to choose from and Sarah, along with three other students from different schools, selected “Bullying and its Effects.”

There was only one round and three judges who made their decision based on content, eloquence and delivery. Students had the option of speaking either in favour or against the given topic and they had only two minutes to deliver their speech.

In her speech, Sarah spoke about bullying and its negative impact on society. Her powerful speech was quite awe-inspiring and her execution was flawless. She made relevant points and addressed the audience, including the judges, directly.

It was no surprise that she secured the first position! She received a shield to acknowledge her hard work. We are extremely proud of Sarah. Well done!
