Elocution Competition 2025: A Celebration of Expression and Eloquence!

Our MPR (multi-purpose room) was once again filled with rhythm, emotion and eloquence as students took the stage for the Annual Poem Elocution Competition on February 20, 2025. The event showcased the power of words, with students delivering poetry that inspired, moved, and captivated the audience.

This year’s competition was structured differently. The competition for Years 1-6 was compulsory and conducted house-wise, adding an extra layer of spirit and camaraderie.

Participation for Years 7-10 was voluntary, with sign-up sheets placed on classroom soft boards. Since their participation was voluntary, marks were not included in their House marks.

Years 1-5 were provided with poems selected by their teachers, while Years 6-10 were given the freedom to select their own. They did however go through an approval process. The second and third rounds featured the same poems, allowing students to refine their delivery.

Our English teachers conducted the first round, internal judges evaluated the second round and external judges were invited for the final round, to ensure fairness and eliminate bias.

Our panel of judges included Ms. Ashfa from BVS Parsi High School, Ms. Hira Riaz from Habib Girls’ School, and an alumnus of our school Ms. Uzma Fiaz from NED University with expertise in literature and public speaking brought depth to the evaluation process.

From heartfelt recitations to powerful expressions, each participant gave their best, making the judges’ task even more challenging. The winners were finally announced, recognizing the remarkable performances of students especially in the Primary Section.

In the Primary Section, Arwa Ammad Year 1C from Air House, Inaya Azam Year 2B from Air House, Anabiya Ghanchi Year 3C from Air House, Anaya Mansoori Year 4B from Sun House, and Marium Abdul Samad Year 5B from Water House delivered outstanding recitations, impressing the judges with their confidence and articulation.

In the Secondary Section, Alisha Tauseef Year 6B from Water House, Humna Noman Year 7B, (Sun House) Zeenia Khan Year 8B, (Air House) Amal Zeeshan Year 9B (Air House) and Zahabia Gulzar Year 10C (Sun House) captivated the audience with their powerful interpretations and expressive delivery.

The competition concluded with enthusiastic applause and cheers celebrating the talent and hard work of the children, especially the Primary Section. The Annual Poem Elocution Competition 2024- 25 was a testament to the beauty of poetry, the power of voice, and the confidence of our students.
