Annual Sports Day 2024

Our Annual Sports Day on January 26, 2024, was a huge success with the stalls filled with enthusiastic parents cheering their daughters along. The day was filled with good cheer, music, a vibrancy of colours and of course races and performances that showcased our students’ talents. While students wore their House P.E Uniforms, teachers supported their Houses as well by wearing their House Colours.

Our lively announcers from a wide range of age groups (Years 3, 4, 7 and 9 ) kept us informed about the proceedings throughout the event.

The event started off with a beautiful Qirat and translation, followed by the Oath Ceremony, which all the students performed. After receiving the Principal’s permission, the Sports Captain performed the Torch Lightning Ceremony. This was followed by a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by our School Band.

Next came the Walk Past, in which each House Coordinator along with the House Captain led their respective houses. It was a sight to behold. Years 7, 9 and 10 performed their Formation which was quite intriguing as they ended up showcasing our School Mantra: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Neat.

To ensure total fairness and objectivity we had invited Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, a National Athlete and Sports Officer from District Korangi as our external judge.

Then the competitive events officially began. In the first half of the event, we had the Primary Section races which were: Simple Race, Hurdle Race, Ball in the Spoon Race, Sack Race, Bean Bag Race and Shuttle Relay Race. There was also a Tug-of-War.

Throughout the event, our Josh-o-Kharosh Team cheered their houses along and celebrated winning houses.

The Primary Section received their awards and medals and had photographs taken with the VP Ms Vira Sidhwa.

Then the Council and Secondary Section had their races, which were: Simple Race, Hurdle Race, Three-Legged Race and Shuttle Relay Race.

The Council Formation Display was remarkable and everyone cheered loudly for them.

Our Sports Day event is not restricted to our students. We always encourage the whole school to participate. That includes our Teachers, Ancillary Staff and our students’ parents. They all had their respective races which put a smile on everyone’s faces. All of them had their Medal Distribution Ceremony as well.

The Secondary Section received their awards and medals and had photographs taken with the Principal Ms Seema Malik, who also announced the Sports Day results. Although all the houses performed really well, there could only be one winner. Air House was awarded the First Position and Sun House came in Second. Great job, Air House!

The exciting day came to an end with our choir singing our beautiful and beloved School Anthem..
