On Wednesday, February 26, 2025 our Year 1 pupils experienced an exciting field trip to Giggle Town, located at Ocean Mall. The trip was planned to provide our pupils with a unique learning experience, combining fun and education.
Our pupils explored various areas, including the Doctor’s Clinic, Construction Zone, Science Lab, Fire Station, and Karaoke. In each area, they engaged in interactive activities that fostered learning and development.
In the Doctor’s Clinic, they learned about medical implements and equipment and developed essential social skills, such as communication and empathy when they engaged in role-play as doctors and patients.
The Construction Zone offered unique experiences, such as, a car washing activity and exploring a power-pulley system. They learned about the concept of force and pull as they excitedly pulled themselves and their peers up, demonstrating teamwork and problem-solving skills.
In the Science Lab, pupils conducted simple experiments, learning about gravity. These interactive experiments sparked their curiosity and encouraged them to think critically.
At the Fire Station, pupils learned about firefighting equipment and vehicles, role-playing as firefighters. They further developed their problem-solving skills and understanding of community helpers.
In the Karaoke area, they enjoyed singing rhymes with actions, demonstrating creativity and self-expression, showcasing their confidence and enthusiasm. They also visited the Toodle Mart, where they engaged in a simulated shopping experience. Role-playing as shoppers, they developed their communication and negotiation skills.
This hands-on experience broadened their understanding, sparked their interest and helped them appreciate the roles and responsibilities of various professions. As we returned to school, the pupils were buzzing with excitement, sharing their favourite experiences and newfound learning with their peers.
