Our Annual Sports Day was held on February 03, 2026, within the school premises. A thoughtful decision taken due to logistical reasons, which is why parents were not invited. The event took place a few weeks after the sad demise of our respected Principal, lending the occasion a deeper sense of reflection, resilience, and unity. Amid a time of remembrance and reflection, the day unfolded as a vibrant celebration of discipline, enthusiasm, and collective spirit, reflecting the months of dedicated preparation and hard work put in by both students and teachers.
The occasion was graced by the presence of our Acting Principal, Ms. Mahenaz Mahmud, Vice Principal, Ms. Vira Sidhwa, Headmistress of the Secondary Section, Ms. Bushra Nasir, Headmistress of the Primary Section, Ms. Saima Shiraz, and valued senior faculty members, whose guidance and supervision ensured the smooth flow of the events. The day was further honoured by Ms. Ishrat Aamir from Mama Parsi Girls’ School; invited in her capacity as a judge. Holding a Master’s degree in Physical Education, she is a certified technical official affiliated with the Pakistan Netball Federation – her expertise added fairness and credibility to the results.
The programme began with the recitation of Qirat and its translation, setting a dignified and reverent tone. The schedule was thoughtfully organised, with the first half dedicated to the Primary Section races and the second half to the Secondary Section events, ensuring excitement and participation throughout the day.
The Primary Section commenced with the School Anthem sung by the Primary School Choir, followed by the Torch Lighting Ceremony led by the Sports Captain, symbolizing sportsmanship, perseverance, and fair play. The Secondary and Primary House Captains’ Oath Taking Ceremony reinforced the students’ commitment to honesty, discipline, and teamwork.
A lively series of events followed. Ball Dribbling and Simple Races for Years 1 – 3 brought smiles and cheers as young participants showcased confidence and agility. Fun-filled activities like Fish Frenzy, Bean Bag Race, and Cross the River kept energy levels soaring, while skill-based competitions such as Passing under the Hurdle, Hurdle Race, Tug of War Finals, and Baton Relay Races for Years 3 – 5 displayed determination, coordination, and teamwork.
Throughout the Primary Section programme, students of Air, Water, and Sun Houses cheered passionately, chanting slogans, and motivating their teammates with infectious energy. The House Coordinators played a pivotal role in guiding and energizing their houses, instilling a spirit of fair play and healthy competition. The Teachers’ Bean Bag Race added a playful twist, drawing hearty applause from students seated in the garden area.
A brief transition followed, during which the Primary Section results were announced. The Medal Distribution Ceremony for the Primary Section was conducted by the Acting Principal, Ms. Mahenaz Mahmud, who applauded the students’ efforts and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.
The second half of the programme began with the Secondary Section eagerly taking their seats to cheer their respective Houses. The Secondary and Primary House Captains’ Oath Taking Ceremony, reinforced sportsmanship, discipline, and determination. The Yoga Display by Years 6 -7 impressed the audience with balance, focus, and poise. Energetic events such as Tug of War, Simple Races, Hurdle Races, and Baton Relay Races kept the quadrangle buzzing with excitement. Students of Air, Water, and Sun Houses cheered on by their House Coordinators, motivated each other with zest and sportsman spirit, creating a vibrant atmosphere of teamwork and friendly rivalry.
The Student Council Display highlighted students’ leadership, coordination, and organizational skills, while the Teachers’ Race for the Secondary Section added fun and laughter, strengthening the bond between staff and students. The Medal Distribution Ceremony for the Secondary Section was conducted by Ms. Mahenaz Mahmud, followed by photographs capturing moments of achievement, joy, and celebration.
The Sports Day concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem sung by the Secondary School Choir. With consistent effort, determination, and teamwork, Water House emerged as the overall winner, securing the highest points and proudly taking home the House Trophy.
The event stood as a testament to unity, discipline, and resilience, made possible through months of preparation, the tireless efforts of teachers, the dedication of PE Teachers, House Head, House Coordinators, Air, Sun, and Water House Captains, the enthusiastic participation of Student Council and students, all contributing to a truly memorable and electrifying Sports Day.
