Our school quadrangle was filled with festive energy as students and teachers arrived in green and white attire, with vibrant accessories; many of them waving the Pakistani flag with great pride.
The celebration commenced with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony at 8:00 am, led by our Vice Principal, Ms. Vira Sidhwa. As the flag was raised, the assembly observed a moment of respectful silence. The national anthem resonated through the quadrangle, performed with passion by our school choir and supported by the music teachers, creating an atmosphere of national pride.
Syeda Ayesha Atif Year 10B, delivered an inspiring speech. She emphasized the critical role of hard work in shaping our future and honouring the contributions of our country. She underscored that we have all benefited immensely from the opportunities and privileges our country provides, and it is now our responsibility to give back through dedication and effort. By committing ourselves to hard work, we not only advance our personal goals but also contribute to the collective progress of our society. This powerful message serves as a reminder that our success is intertwined with the well-being of our country, urging us all to strive for excellence and to make a meaningful impact.
The day’s programme was a vibrant showcase of student talents and engagement. Students from Years 7 and 8 performed the National Song “Jo Naam Wohi Pehchan Pakistan, Pakistan,” while a quiz challenged pupils from Years 2 to 4 with questions about Independence Day. The quiz was followed by a presentation of a Sindhi song “Mor Tho Tilly Rana,” which included an explanation of its cultural significance.
The excitement continued with riddles related to Independence Day, a Guess-the-Songs game, featuring national tunes, and a national song performed by selected teachers – all of which brought an element of fun and friendly competition. The programme concluded with a heartfelt Dua for the country, reflecting the collective hope for our nation’s prosperity and unity.
The Independence Day event was a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation from both students and staff. It was a memorable occasion that reinforced our shared values and love for our nation.
