The school quadrangle was brimming with energy and anticipation on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, as the highly awaited Dreamscape Carnival finally arrived. Weeks of meticulous planning and organising by the Student Council led to this moment, and was eagerly anticipated by the entire student body. Members of the Student Council and Year 10 worked diligently to ensure every aspect of the event was flawlessly executed. The carnival was more than a celebration; it was driven by a greater purpose, raising funds for school and for an external cause of significant importance – a way of giving back.
The delightful scent of freshly cooked fries filled the air, enticing everyone nearby. Spicy and crispy chicken samosas along with croissant sandwiches were served as well. The sweet, fluffy candy floss brought joy and smiles to many children. Students eagerly lined up for the freshly baked mini pizzas, and soft brownies. To wash it down, bottles of refreshing juice were available, providing a much-needed burst of energy to the students.
The organisers prepared an array of engaging games and activities to ensure a memorable day for Years 1-6. The haunted house stood out as the most popular attraction, where Year 10 students dressed in terrifying costumes and outfits that left many juniors screaming in fright. The ballroom and karaoke sessions brought laughter and entertainment, creating a lively atmosphere. Navigating the maze set up in the classroom was an enjoyable challenge for many, while others eagerly lined up to play pranks on their peers by locking them in the jail.
The organisers were active throughout, working diligently to address every challenge that arose. The experience provided a valuable learning opportunity, teaching students essential skills in financial management and budget planning. With a combination of delicious food and a variety of entertaining games, the carnival was a resounding success, bringing joy and excitement to everyone involved.
