A Tribute to Dr. Faridon Setna

Dr Setna was a highly professional individual with exceptional competence and skills. He was truly gifted, ethical, gentle, kind and caring to a fault. He brought thousands of infants safely into this world at the Lady Dufferin Hospital Karachi, cared for their mothers and soothed their anxious grandmothers who’s babies he had also delivered.

We take great pride in his association with the PECHS Girls’ School and with our founder, Begum Amina Majeed Malik. He served on the Board of the school for over three decades. Always a trusted, keen listener he engaged with deep interest during meetings, thoroughly enjoying the activities and innovation in our curriculum. He asked questions to deepen his understanding and derived great pleasure at the school’s accomplishments. Until recently, he attended the annual prize distribution ceremony, somehow making the time from his full schedule. And of course, he was always ready with sound advice on policy matters.

We grieve deeply for him now and will remember him fondly in the years to come.
