Qualifications

Must have:

  • Master’s degree in Pakistan Studies, History, Political Science, Geography, International Relations, or a related field.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience teaching Social Studies and Pakistan Studies to Years 7 & 8
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate active learning strategies to enhance students’ understanding of Social Studies.
  • Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, inquiry, and responsible citizenship through meaningful classroom discussions and activities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Provide individual academic support and guidance to students whenever required.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons  for Years 7 & 8, ensuring students are well prepared for assessments.
  • Utilise technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum and incorporate it into daily teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
  • Design, prepare, and evaluate formative and summative assessments, including test and examination papers, in accordance with curriculum requirements.
  • Be organised, observant, adaptable, willing to take on challenges, and receptive to implementing feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, share responsibilities, and contribute positively to the department and the school community.
