Qualifications
Must have:
- Master’s degree in Biology or a related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience teaching Biology to Years 9 & 10 or equivalent secondary grades.
- Experience teaching the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) curriculum.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate active learning strategies to enhance students’ understanding of Biology.
- Foster critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving skills through practical and theoretical learning experiences.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and a love for learning.
- Provide individual academic support and guidance to students whenever required.
- Plan, conduct, and assess learning in accordance with the requirements of the AKU-EB curriculum for Years 9 & 10.
- Utilise technology effectively to enhance the teaching and learning of Biology.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum and the AKU-EB curriculum, incorporating both into daily teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- Design, prepare, and evaluate formative and summative assessments, including test and examination papers, in accordance with curriculum requirements.
- Be organised, observant, adaptable, willing to take on challenges, and receptive to implementing feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, share responsibilities, and contribute positively to the department and the school community.
