When we began talking about introducing SEL formally as part of our curriculum, we looked for work that had already been done on Social-Emotional Learning and it was the CASEL framework which seemed most appropriate and comprehensive. Of course, we did some minor cultural adaptations to make it fit better with us. A BIG shoutout and Thank You to CASEL for making their resources so easily available online.
About CASEL: The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning, envisions all children and adults as self-aware, caring, responsible, engaged and lifelong learners who work together to achieve their goals and create a more inclusive, just world.
The CASEL Core Competencies are best reflected through their diagram.
