Mighty Mangroves – A Mini Art Exhibition

January 6 – 23, 2025

During Term 1 of the Academic Year 2024- 2025, our children Yrs. 1-7 learnt about the Biome of the Mangroves in our coastal city, Karachi. It is an integral part of our ecology, and essential for all of our citizens to know about our mangrove forests. Our students learnt about the root system of mangrove trees, the wildlife that lives in the water, mudflats, roots and leaves of the forests and how important they are for our ecology now and in the future.

Using mangrove forests, trees, and their ecology as inspiration, our students created 3D sculptures, worked with acrylic and water colour paint, learnt about famous artists and their styles, and worked with recycling material creating unique and culturally appropriate artworks for our Mini Art Exhibition.

You may recall that all three sections of Year 7 also visited the TPL Mangrove Biodiversity Park at Korangi Creek from December 16 – 18, 2024. We would have loved for the whole school to go on this Field Trip, and in coming years, more classes will go.
