Qualifications
Must have:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary level.
- Experience teaching the AKU-EB curriculum.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate active learning strategies to enhance students’ understanding of Mathematics.
- Foster logical reasoning, critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities through meaningful mathematical learning experiences.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, perseverance, and confidence in learning Mathematics.
- Provide individual academic support and guidance to students whenever required.
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in accordance with the requirements of the AKU-EB curriculum, ensuring students are well prepared for assessments.
- Utilise technology effectively to enhance the teaching and learning of Mathematics.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum and incorporate it into daily teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- Design, prepare, and evaluate formative and summative assessments, including test and examination papers, in accordance with curriculum requirements.
- Be organised, observant, adaptable, willing to take on challenges, and receptive to implementing feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, share responsibilities, and contribute positively to the department and the school community.
