Qualifications
Must have:
- Master’s degree in Pakistan Studies, History, Political Science, Geography, International Relations, or a related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience teaching Social Studies and Pakistan Studies to Years 7, 8 & 10.
- Experience teaching the AKU-EB curriculum.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate active learning strategies to enhance students’ understanding of Social Studies and Pakistan Studies.
- Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, inquiry, and responsible citizenship through meaningful classroom discussions and activities.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Provide individual academic support and guidance to students whenever required.
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in accordance with the requirements of the AKU-EB curriculum for Years 7, 8 & 10, ensuring students are well prepared for assessments.
- Utilise technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum and incorporate it into daily teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- Design, prepare, and evaluate formative and summative assessments, including test and examination papers, in accordance with curriculum requirements.
- Be organised, observant, adaptable, willing to take on challenges, and receptive to implementing feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, share responsibilities, and contribute positively to the department and the school community.
